Title: Archaeology Enthusiasts & Emergent Technologies
Purpose: To convey the various ways that Archaeology Enthusiasts (Citizen Archaeologists) can engage in information behaviours online.

Analysis: When examining this piece with a critical eye, the first thing that jumps out is the use of colour in the design. The colour palette that was selected is very warm. The yellow is particularly eye-catching and draws the viewers' attention down through the different sections of the infographic. Yellow is a primary colour, and it is what has the most visual draw in this design. Alternating yellow with dark orange works very well in drawing the viewer's focus down through the infographic.
The icons included are another point of interest which grab the attention upon viewing this infographic. For the most part, they stand out through the use of shape and use of contrasting colours which functions to draw the viewers' attention. This was by design, as in the web version of this infographic (linked below), the icons were interactable. The viewer would be taken to different online resources relating to archaeology by clicking on them.
Several design elements were utilized in the creation of this infographic. Horizontal divisions are created through linear colour transitions, which separate the different sections making it easy for the viewer to differentiate between the presented points. The use of line in this composition is more implied than overt. The use of stable horizontal lines is contrasted with using rounded shapes for the icons, making them more visually appealing and more likely to draw the viewers' attention. As these icons function as links, it is more likely for the viewer to try and click on and interact with them.
The colour palette selected for this design predominantly features warm colours, yellow, orange, and dark reddish-brown.
Each section of the infographic features a block of text and icons organized in an alternating pattern that draws the views eye down the infographic through the different areas. Warm colours are very eye-catching, and the analogous colours work well together to bring a sense of harmony to the composition. Space is also used to create a sense of balance and harmony in the design.
